Introduction

About this Manual

This volume, User's Manual, is a combined reference and guideline to the Telelogic Tau tools and their windows, menus, commands, files, storage formats, etc. It provides descriptions of all tool items, as well as guides on how to use the tools and perform various tasks. The User's Manual is divided into eight parts (binders).

Part 1: describes the general graphical user interface used in all Telelogic Tau tools, as well as the basic graphical tools of Telelogic Tau.

Part 2: describes the different interface and language utilities in Telelogic Tau, including OM Access and ITEX Access.

Part 3: describes how to use the tools and languages in ITEX, and is divided into different sections for UNIX, Windows and Common functionality.

Part 4: describes how to use the diagram editors in ORCA1 and SDT, including the UML to SDL Converter, and a quick reference to all symbols and lines in the diagram editors.

Part 5: describes how to use the viewer and verification tools in SDT, such as the Simulator and the Validator.

Part 6: describes how to analyze and generate code for an SDL system, including the Cbasic/Cadvanced Code Generator and the CHILL translators.

Part 7: describes the libraries included in SDT, as well as the integration facilities using CORBA and different Real-Time OS.

Part 8: describes the tools and libraries in the Cmicro Package, used for translating and testing SDL systems with high demands on compact and optimized C code.
